Elders Inn
Project Description: Elders Inn on Webster is a return to traditional models of: "Life on the Street". Facing a pedestrian-oriented thoroughfare, the street front houses not only the lobby, but a Retail space as well (currently programmed for Senior Day-Care). The entry is set back from the sidewalk under an arch, which also frames a view of the main courtyard beyond. Housing 52 resident rooms with private baths, the building is organized into separate neighborhoods, or "pods". Each pod contains individual Activity and congregate Dining Areas as well as Living/Lounge areas. Each has access to one of four private courtyards of different scale and character. Twelve units are dedicated to residents suffering from Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, incorporating both interior and exterior design elements that address their special cognitive and sensory needs.
